Higher quality images will result in higher quality end results

Generally speaking, any photographs taken on good quality cameras and mobile phones will look great on all products. However, below are our suggestions to get the best results. If you’re unsure about anything, contact us and we will be happy to help.

  • DPI – we recommend only using images which are above 72 dpi, however images around 300 dpi will give the best results.
  • Resolution – smaller resolutions (~320 x 240) are okay on smaller products  (ie. keyrings, bag tags, cufflinks and pill boxes), however the bigger the product, the better the resolution needs to be. A good rule of thumb is to use images as big as possible, with a minimum of around 1024 x 768. If you’re unsure, get in touch and we will let you know.

  • Resolution – smaller resolutions (~320 x 240) are okay for smaller designs or products (ie. a small or simple engraving, or an engraving on a square tot glass), however the bigger the product, the better the resolution needs to be. • Image Choice – images with a variety of shadows, and high contrast show up best when engraved. The image should be well exposed, with the elements standing out against the background if possible.

  • JPG/JPEG (recommended)
  • PNG – allows transparency (recommended)
  • BMP
  • GIF – engraving only

Any logos, trademarks, copyrighted or licensed images sent to Country Images must be done so with the consent of the owner. Please see our Terms for more information.

  1. Line Drawings – can be a variety of styles and methods, including: hand-drawn, sketched, digitally produced, photocopies etc.. However, designs appear best when the line is strong and black with a white/transparent background. It’s best to send these in a PNG format as it preserves the quality of the image and enables saving with a transparent background. Remember – the black lines/darker areas get engraved and therefore will come out white on glass.
  2. Images & Photographs – We can print or engrave any image or photograph. The finished design is entirely dependent on the quality of image we receive. See below for our recommended files sizes.

USING OUR PRODUCT DESIGNER

Country Images offers the use of an online product designer for our printed items. This is to provide customers with the opportunity to view an illustration of their design on our products. Following the submission of your order, we will resize and adapt the image to provide optimal quality and design of the end product. Please note that the designer is there for illustration purposes only – we cannot guarantee an exact copy.

If you have any further design instructions after using the product design, please enter these in the Design Instructions box on the product page, or send us a message.

To initialise our product designer, select Customise on the product page. This will bring up a smaller window showing the product and several options around the outside.

Some products allow you to design more than one side. If this is the case, you’ll see the different side views in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Simply click on these to design each side.

Main options:

  1. ADD IMAGE – click here to upload your images to the designer. You can select to upload from your computer or from Pixabay. Alternatively, you can drag images into the area provided. From here, you can move, resize, duplicate, copy or delete the text, using the options in each corner. You can also select a variety of options in the pop up window, such as text colour, font and style.
  3. DONE – when you’re happy with your design, click here to return to the product page where you can add the product to your basket. Don’t forget to add any design instructions!
